If you live in the Denver metro area, chances are that you have spent time at the Denver International Airport catching a flight or picking someone up. DIA is the 5th busiest airport in the country with over 600,000 flights in 2018 alone. The airport was built in 1995 and since its conception has been the center of many conspiracy theories and rumors. It doesn't help that we have a big blue horse with red demonic eyes at the entrance to the airport. (The horse sculpture actually killed the artist who created it, Luis Jiménez, in a freak accident when part of the horse fell and crushed him in his workshop.) Whether there is any truth behind the conspiracy theories and rumors remains a mystery, but it is interesting to read about them. Here are 4 conspiracy theories about Denver International Airport.
1.) DIA Was Built by The New World Order
Scattered around the airport are markers and plaques that claim the airport was funded by an organization called "The New World Airport Commission". The thing is, this organization doesn't exist. It didn't exist when the airport was built in 1995 and it doesn't exist now. The organization has never existed and no one seems to know why these plaques and markers are in the airport. The airport was actually funded by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) which is why it is so weird that these plaques and markers have remained in the airport after all these years.
2.) Home of the Illuminati Headquarters
Most people are familiar with the Freemasons (The New World Order) and the Illuminati. They are said to be the elite of the world and the most powerful people that secretly control the world. These groups may exist, but there is no solid evidence that they secretly control the world. In DIA under one of the New World Airport Commission plaques is a time capsule that was sealed for 100 years when the airport was being built. Additionally, the plaque and floor have a Masonic square, a compass symbol, and an inscription that gives the time capsule’s contents to the “people of Colorado in 2094”. These symbols are widely known to be used by the Freemasons and the Illuminati so why are they written over the top of a time capsule? Conspiracy theorist also claim that the airport cost much more to build than has been recorded. They say that money was hidden in the costs of building the airport to create a secret Illuminati headquarters deep underground below the airport. Conspiracy or top-secret underground lair? I'll leave it up to you to decide.
3.) Clues to the Apocalypse
If you have ever walked through DIA you might have noticed all of the weird sculptures and murals. There are gargoyle statues, 28 foot wide murals, and of course the big blue horse. Many theorists claim that the artwork in DIA is clues to the end of times and warn of an apocalypse. Many people interpret the red eyes of the big blue horse as a reference to the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Again, these "clues" are all said to be placed there by the Freemasons and Illuminati.
4.) Lizard People and Aliens
Along with the Illuminati headquarters, conspiracy theorists also believe that there are several very large underground baggage tunnels underneath DIA that will serve as a safe haven for the elite of the world when the apocalypse does come. Some also believe that the lizard people and evidence of aliens are kept underneath DIA. Supposedly the lizard people have been drawing on the walls......
So whether you believe any of these conspiracy theories or not, tread lightly when exploring DIA.
