Just bought a new home? Congratulations! Here are 5 tips to help you remodel your home with a small budget!
1. Change the walls color
Painting interior walls is an inexpensive way to dramatically change the look and feel of your home with color. You can even do it yourself if you are well-equipped! But if you don’t feel like painting, think about hiring someone only to paint the most visible areas, like the entryway, the living room and the kitchen. We recommend painting the interior a neutral color to make spaces feel larger.
2. Replace the Front Door
The front door may be more important than what you think: this is the first thing that buyers are going to see! Depending on the door you choose, it can be a little bit pricy, but it can really help you make a difference and generate a great return on the investment at resale.
3. Add a Tile Backsplash in the Kitchen
If you don’t have the money to completely remodel your kitchen, installing a tile backsplash is a good option to give your kitchen a new look. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most popular tile finishes; however, ceramic tile costs less.
4. Install Under-Cabinet Lighting in the Kitchen
Under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen can make the room appear more modern and it is a plus for cooking! We advise you to contact a professional for that kind of project since there can be a bit of wiring and drilling involved. You can contact an electrician or even a qualified handyman.
5. Change Fixtures in a Bathroom
Consider replacing the fixtures in your bathroom: the toilet, faucets and shower head, for example. First, you will have a more modern look, and if you change for high-efficiency versions, you can even save money on your future water bill.
